Moving home, becoming a grandparent, attempting to sort out mum's affairs.

Too preoccupied for the frivolous distractions.  Still haven't seen the Golden Jubilee Stakes! Thankfully found the time to witness Frankel's devastation in the Queen Anne.

Haven't been so busy as to overlook good-priced wins from Caledonian Lady at Sandown and Taajub at Ascot – a welcome reassurance that I hadn't completely lost it.

I'm off to the home of the Tarte Tropezienne today for a week's rest. I’ll therefore miss the big week of false ground, luckless runs and twats in boaters - what else but Inglorious Goodwood?  

I'll try before I get away, though, to shovel a little something on HAMOODY for Tuesday's sprint handicap. It's when projects like this come off that make the game so enthralling. Mostly they don't come off at all. But when they do... 

Nicholls has been messing about with the old-timer this year, managing to crowbar a few pounds off the handicapper.  Anyway, this is where he’s run well in the past.
