When Hakeem Nicks ran agonisingly for a 72 yard touchdown for the New York Giants in the 3rd quarter tonight, it seemed only a matter of time before he went on to beat Marques Colston's mark of 120 yards, set last night.
Going into the final quarter Nicks needed only a 9 yard catch to seal it. The Giants were in total control of the game, and they continued to pass the ball. As the clock slowly ticked, the end seemed inevitable.
But Nicks' one remaining completed catch was a short one - a mere 3 yards.
It's only an exhausting 4.5pt win. To paraphrase Robert Graves out of context: Take courage gambler. Can you endure such grief at any hand but hers?
