Leopardstown

Some informative racing at Leopardstown today. The ground isn't bad.

The 3 mile novice chase will give us an indication if Last Instalment is a serious betting proposition for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham in March.  On slow ground this season so far, he's hinted at being Festival class, but a brief look at his form tells you that he couldn't win over hurdles when the ground was good.

However, this lad's a chaser - so today is a big day for him.

In the staying hurdle Mourad and Voler La Vedette are closer together in the market than I expected. The mare beat Mourad last time, but over 3 miles you'd generally expect Mourad to prevail.

Last Instalment/Mourad: 1pt win double at 2/1 and 11/8 (Victor Chandler)

  1. Kiss of death here....I fancy Mourad today too. Longer trip and maybe some race fitness after his last encounter with the mare? Lexus looks a belter. Sprinter Sacre took my breath away yesterday.

  2. Don't know about kisses of death, Davoski, but the likeable mare has improved big time, hasn't she?, and seems to be settling better in her races. Gave Mourad a sound beating there.
